I think that musically 2007 kinda sucked. Nothing special, everything sounds the same, no band/artist that caught my attention and kept it there a while. I'm bored as hell of same indie riffs and superficial trip hop sounds. I'd like to find a band that i can never get bored of like Massive Attack or Nirvana.
Anyway, maybe next year.
I made a top 5 best albums in 2007...I'm not saying that i've listened to all the albums that were released this year, but these 5 are the nicest ones that i got my hands on. So take you wallet and go buy these cds...
1. I thing that the most interesting one is Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem. Not a lot of best album of 2007 tops have this one on the first place, so not a lot of people agree (the Guardian does). But Pitchfork says that "All my Friend" is the best track of the year. LCDSoundsystem'sspace.
2. M.I.A was a nice surprise for me. Kala is an amazing record. Rolling Stone sais that is the best album of the year. M.I.A went global. ("an international block party with a sonic imagination nobody else could match all year. "). m.i.a'sspace.
3. "In Rainbows". Radiohead. There's nothing much to say about this album that hasn't been said before. It has all the features of a classic record. Amazingly, Rolling Stone places it on the 6th place. Don't mind that, Rolling Stone is the magazine that put Justin Timberlake on the cover in the week that Joe Strummer died.radiohead'sspace.
4. And there's an album that i haven't really seen in any of these charts. The atmostfere is great and I'm gonna actually compare it to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Baby 81". Kings of Leo, "Because of the Times". KingsofLeon'sspace.
5. Battles - "Mirrored". (Pitchfork - 8. Rolling Stones - nevermind them. Metacritic - 13). Battles'sspace.
